Puja at home, outside India
Many of us learnt these prayers by ear, standing next to a grandparent at the evening aarti. Nitya puts the words in front of you when you do the aarti yourself, in New Jersey, London, Toronto or Sydney.
Read in the script you know. Switch any text between Devanagari, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Roman and more. Your choice is remembered.
Big letters for elders. Make the verses bigger for Nani or Thatha, or smaller on a phone. Night mode helps at early-morning puja.
Pages you can print. Clean pages with no ads, for a havan, a Bal Vihar class or the puja shelf.
Festival dates for your city. Abroad, a festival can fall a day earlier or later than in India. We work out tithis and dates for where you live.
On your home screen. Add Nitya to your phone like an app. No app store, no account.
How we look after these texts
How we source and review →-
Checked line by line. We check every text line by line against at least two named sources, such as sanskritdocuments.org, Wikisource scans, or a Gita Press printing where we had one. Each page lists the sources used for that text.
-
Drafts are marked as drafts. A scholar has not reviewed our meanings yet. Until one does, every text page says so.
-
No ads between verses. No ad will ever sit in the middle of a chalisa, an aarti or darshan.
-
No login. Nothing to sign up for. Open a text and begin.
-
Stays on your device. Your streak, your script and the verse you stopped at are saved in your browser. None of it is sent to us.
